Vintage on Vintage

Going back to my roots again and obsessing over thrifting. I have always been into all things vintage and there is something so exhilarating about finding something totally new among the racks and racks of somebody's old.

This top for example, was $3, yes, I know, so crazy. But after a bit of doctoring (i.e. removing those throwback shoulder pads) and cuffing up the sleeves, this baby is as good as new and instantly looks like I swooped it up from Reformation or Zara. Also vintage, them jewels! I have a super exciting project I am working on, so stay tuned but yes, my love for vintage, religious charms and relics is at an all time high, so when I saw this gorgeous mother Mary pendant it just had to be mine.

Lastly, I wanted to share with you my top 3 tips for thrifting:

1) Be open minded. You may not find exactly what you're looking for, but if you go in there totally focused, you may miss something that has the potential to be great as well

2) Go in the a.m. in the middle of the week. This is seriously the best time to shop because you don't have to worry about squeezing through isles or already picked through racks. Tuesday @ 10 a.m. is typically my go-to time.

3) Look over every piece thoroughly! I cannot even begin to count how many times I have purchased items only to come to realize they have a gapping hole at the side, suspicious stains or missing embellishments. Something like missing buttons is an easy Fix, but if the piece is damaged, best to know before you spend the $.

Oh, btw, if anyone ever wants to go vintage hunting with me, hmu! :)
